Computer Lit Accountability

Noella

The Computer Lit program is a hands-on, one-on-one session for people 39 years and older.  Many people in this age group buy a computer and become overwhelmed with even the basic features.  In some cases, this the first computer the student has ever owned.  We help guide them through the basics, up to more advanced uses for their machines.

Talk to the Blog accountability

Noella

The program is for people who want to set up a blog for some social purpose.  I go through the basics of settting it up and explain some of the finer points of blogging.  It helped the librarian at Clear Vista School set up a blog for students to post reviews and get news on school library happenings.

Gingerbread and Glitter 2009

Noella

I particitpated in the Ginerbread and Glitter Christmas event.  The display was called "Good Fortune" because I decorated the tree with handmade origami cranes, turtles, and koi fish, all symbols of good luck in Japan.  Around the base of the tree I set up small signs that had information of the different programs we ran.  A list of blogs was also set  up so people could see what we're up to.

Beginners' Japanese accountibility

Noella

I ran the sessions, and taught the participants how to speak some basic Japanese.  I encouraged them to use the blog and internet for additional information and learning.  The blog was kept updated with "Word of the Day", lesson summaries, and extra activities.

MangaCon(version) accountability

 Noella

I ran the sessions, teaching students how to read and write hiragana, katakana, and kanji.  I also set up translation activities and extra course work on the blog.
