Talk to the Blog accountability

Noella

The program is for people who want to set up a blog for some social purpose.  I go through the basics of settting it up and explain some of the finer points of blogging.  It helped the librarian at Clear Vista School set up a blog for students to post reviews and get news on school library happenings.

Gingerbread and Glitter 2009

I particitpated in the Ginerbread and Glitter Christmas event.  The display was called "Good Fortune" because I decorated the tree with handmade origami cranes, turtles, and koi fish, all symbols of good luck in Japan.  Around the base of the tree I set up small signs that had information of the different programs we ran.  A list of blogs was also set  up so people could see what we're up to.

I ran the sessions, and taught the participants how to speak some basic Japanese.  I encouraged them to use the blog and internet for additional information and learning.  The blog was kept updated with "Word of the Day", lesson summaries, and extra activities.

I ran the sessions, teaching students how to read and write hiragana, katakana, and kanji.  I also set up translation activities and extra course work on the blog.
